Iso2God FAQ
Straight answers to the questions readers ask most about Iso2God — versions, platforms, padding, verification and console requirements. Every answer below is limited to facts verified from the projects themselves; where no trustworthy source exists, the answer says so.
What is Iso2God?
Iso2God is a PC tool that converts Xbox 360 and original Xbox ISO disc images into Games On Demand (GOD) packages — the format a modded Xbox 360 can install and launch from a hard drive or USB storage, and that the Xenia emulator can also load. You add an ISO, review the title metadata, choose a padding mode, and convert.
What was the final version of the original Iso2God?
The original was released by Team 360h (copyright 2010), and its final version is v1.3.6, from the 1.3.x series. It is a Windows-only .NET Windows Forms application, distributed as closed-source freeware. There is no Team 360h v1.4, v1.5 or v1.6 — version numbers above 1.3.6 belong to a later community fork.
What is Iso2God v1.6.0, then?
v1.6.0 (26 January 2026) is the latest release of the r4dius decompiled fork on GitHub. The fork’s own binary describes itself as a quality-of-life improvement mod made from decompilation of the original v1.3.6, and states that it is not supported by Team 360h. It is the maintained Windows GUI this site links, and its SHA-256 is verified against GitHub.
Can I use Iso2God on Linux or Mac?
Yes — but not with the classic GUI, which has no native Linux or macOS build. Use iso2god-rs, the MIT-licensed Rust rewrite, which ships native binaries for Linux x86_64 and ARM64 and for macOS Intel and Apple Silicon (latest release v1.8.1). It is command-line only. A new GTK4 GUI fork, iso2god-next, appeared in October 2026; it is promising but still lightly tested off Linux.
Does a converted GOD game work on a stock, unmodded Xbox 360?
No. Iso2God produces GOD packages with an unlocked licence, and a stock retail Xbox 360 refuses them. Playing the result requires a modded console — JTAG, RGH or a BadUpdate-class exploit — or the Xenia emulator on a PC. Converting your own disc dumps on a PC is fine; playback is the part that needs the mod.
Which padding mode should I use?
Partial is the safe default in the GUI workflow. Full removal saves the most space but is not universally safe, and two documented counter-examples prove the point: Tetris – The Grand Master Ace breaks with full removal and needs Partial, and Wolfenstein: The New Order Disc 1 needs its padding left intact for its first conversion. When in doubt, convert with Partial (or None) and test before deleting the source ISO.
How do I verify a download is genuine?
Compare the file’s SHA-256 checksum with the digest published on the upstream GitHub release — this site prints only hashes we have verified that way, for the r4dius fork, iso2god-rs and the related tools. For the original Team 360h v1.3.6 there is no hash to compare against: no trustworthy official download survives (its Xbox-Scene-era channels are defunct), so any site publishing an "official v1.3.6 SHA-256" is publishing an unverifiable number.
What is the difference between a GOD package and an NXE disc install?
Both are closely related SVOD packages, but they are signed differently and locked differently. A GOD package carries a LIVE header and — in Iso2God’s output — an unlocked licence for modded consoles. An NXE install is PIRS-signed and locked to the console that installed it, and the stock dashboard still demands the original disc in the tray as a licence check. That is why tools like NXE2GOD exist to convert NXE installs on a modded console.
How do multi-disc games work?
Queue and convert each disc separately. Aurora and Freestyle Dash can swap GOD discs automatically on a modded console. There are documented exceptions: the r4dius fork maintainer’s notes list many two-disc games (for example GTA V and Battlefield 4) where Disc 1 belongs on the console as extracted install content and only Disc 2 is converted to GOD.
Is iso2god.net an official Iso2God website?
No. This is an unofficial fan resource. It is not affiliated with Microsoft, Team 360h, r4dius or iliazeus. The original tool never had an official website that survives, which is one reason this site is careful to label every version, fork and download source for what it actually is.
Where do the downloads on this site come from?
The main download channel is the upstream GitHub release pages — the r4dius fork for the Windows GUI and iliazeus/iso2god-rs for the cross-platform CLI — linked directly, with SHA-256 checksums verified against GitHub. Some files are additionally offered as mirror copies via Terabox, a third-party file host; those links are always labelled as mirrors on the page.
Can Iso2God convert a GOD package back to an ISO, or convert extracted game folders?
Upstream Iso2God and iso2god-rs convert ISO to GOD only. For the reverse direction, use God2Iso, which rebuilds an ISO from a GOD package’s part files. Converting directly from an extracted folder (a default.xex or default.xbe) is a feature of the new iso2god-next, not of upstream rs.
