Iso2God Version History

This page records the verified lineage of Iso2God and its successors — and only the verified lineage. Where no primary source exists, we say so instead of reconstructing a changelog. Iso2God converts Xbox 360 and original Xbox ISO images into Games On Demand (GOD) packages for modded consoles (JTAG, RGH or BadUpdate-class) and emulators. iso2god.net is an unofficial fan resource; see the download page for the current tools and the Platforms hub for platform guides.

The original: Team 360h and the 1.3.x series

Iso2God was created by Team 360h (copyright 2010, as recorded in the program’s own assembly metadata). It is a Windows-only .NET Windows Forms application, distributed as closed-source freeware, that converts ISO images to GOD packages with a choice of padding removal (None, Partial or Full), title-metadata editing via a bundled xextool helper, and optional FTP upload to the console.

The original release line is the 1.3.x series, and its final version is v1.3.6. Two independent anchors confirm that endpoint: the modern fork’s binary describes v1.3.6 as “the original”, and the period command-line re-implementation (next section) carries a 1.3.6 release tag. No complete changelog for the original 1.3.x series was found in any primary source, so none is published here — any site listing detailed per-version changes for the 2010 originals is reconstructing them, not quoting them.

Why no download or hash for v1.3.6? The original was distributed through Xbox-Scene-era and Xbins-era homebrew channels. Both are defunct, there is no official website and no official GitHub repository for the original tool, and the copies on download portals today are unattributable repacks. Because no trustworthy official download survives, there is no trustworthy file to measure — so this site publishes no size and no SHA-256 for the original binary, and never will unless a verifiable source appears.

eliecharra/iso2god-cli — the period command-line branch

Alongside the GUI era, iso2god-cli by eliecharra re-implemented the conversion as a command-line tool, advertised at the time for Windows and Linux. Its release tag 1.3.6 is dated 27 February 2015, mirroring the original’s final version number. The repository was last active in 2017 and is now archived. Its historical importance is real: the modern iso2god-rs describes itself as an optimised rewrite of iso2god-cli, so the command-line lineage of today descends from this project — not from a port of the Windows GUI.

The r4dius fork — the GUI continues (2023–2026)

The Windows GUI lives on as a decompiled fork maintained by r4dius on GitHub. The fork is explicit about what it is: its binary calls itself “a quality of life improvement mod from decompilation of the original v1.3.6” and states that it is not supported by Team 360h. Its releases — which are fork releases, not new original versions — are:

  • v1.3.7 — 5 June 2023
  • v1.3.8 — 15 July 2024
  • v1.5.0 — 28 October 2024
  • v1.6.0 — 26 January 2026 (current; the GUI this site links, with its SHA-256 verified against GitHub)

Fork-era additions documented by the maintainer include multi-ISO selection and drag-and-drop, a choosable FTP destination path, delete-after-conversion options, corrected game names from the bundled game lists, a resizable window, original Xbox Redump-image support and thumbnail fixes. There is no Team 360h v1.4, v1.5 or v1.6 — wherever those numbers appear, they mean this fork.

iso2god-rs — the cross-platform rewrite (2022– )

iso2god-rs, by iliazeus, was created in 2022 and is an MIT-licensed rewrite in Rust of iso2god-cli, with extra features. It is a command-line tool for Linux, Windows and macOS that converts ISO to GOD only, reads XGD1, XGD2, XGD3 and XSF images, and offers dry-run checks, a title override, end-trimming and multi-threading. Its latest release is v1.8.1, published 10 August 2025, with native binaries for Linux x86_64 and ARM64, macOS Intel and Apple Silicon, and Windows x86_64 — the SHA-256 of each is published on this site’s platform pages, verified against GitHub.

One documented quirk belongs in any honest history: the v1.8.1 binary reports its version as 1.8.0 when run with --version — the release shipped without its internal version string being bumped. We confirmed this by executing the downloaded binary. It is a known quirk of that release, not evidence of a wrong download.

Around rs, a small ecosystem of MIT-licensed GUI front-ends has appeared, including iso2god-redux (murilopereirame) and iso2god.app (gutierri). They wrap the rs engine in a window; they are listed here for completeness and linked from the download page.

iso2god-next — the new GUI fork (October 2026)

The newest branch is iso2god-next by georgewoodall82, forked from iso2god-rs and created on 21 October 2026. Its current release, v1.1.1 (22 October 2026), is a GTK4 desktop application (with a CLI) that adds a drag-and-drop queue, conversion directly from extracted folders containing a default.xex or default.xbe, FTP upload to Aurora, Freestyle Dash, XeXMenu or any FTP server, and parallel part-writing. Its own notes caution that the Windows and macOS builds are lightly tested and that the Linux AppImage is the supported build — which is why this site reports it as news (see our first look) rather than as the default recommendation, for now.

The lineage on one line

Team 360h original (1.3.x, final v1.3.6, 2010, Windows GUI, closed source) → iso2god-cli (command-line branch, tag 1.3.6 in 2015, archived 2017) → iso2god-rs (2022, MIT, cross-platform CLI, current v1.8.1) → iso2god-next (2026, GTK4 GUI fork of rs, v1.1.1). In parallel: the r4dius decompiled fork keeps the original GUI alive on Windows (1.3.7 in 2023 through 1.6.0 in 2026).
